Mrs Olubunmi Moronmubo Sanni was my mother and I am the first born to four of her children. My mother was a God fearing and caring individual who never minded putting herself in a worse position to benefit the life of someone else.

My mother was a practising Christian and played a big role in the church (Mount Zion Jesus Saves Christian Centre) she often sung songs "BLESSED ASSURANCE" "LORD I LIFT YOUR NAME ON HIGH" "MY GOD IS A MIRACLE GOD" "A MONO TE TE BO" "E JE KA JUMO" "HOW EXCELLENT IS YOUR NAME O LORD" She attended church on a regular basis and believed that with good will and by serving God she will enter the gates of Heaven and we have faith that she has in Jesus name.

My mother was a hard worker and devoted everything she had to her children and her family. She always showed mercy on people around her and wanted to bring the family together as much as she could. My mother loved me and my siblings to the extent where she had at many times given me her last pound in order for me to go to school. My mother did her very best to lay the right educational foundation for me and my siblings by struggling to take us from public schools to schools which we could get the best education in order to get us to the place where we are now.

My mother believed in education and persisted me and my siblings furthered our education to the maximum, she also was adamant on me finding a good job in the field I studied and often helped me too look for jobs and nagged me to do so.

My mother, right before she left this sinful world taught me how to live in this world by "Indicating the importance to give thanks to God on a daily basis no matter what was happening"

Memories of my mother take me back to my infant days where my mother was bathing for me and began to cry for her mother who died at the time and automatically I began to cry, and this connection was evident in our relationship in the 21 years I spent with her and every time she cried I did and vice versa.

My mother is the only person God created in this earth who could make things better for me with just her hug and she will always be a mother for me and my siblings with the love she showed us.

My mother was always adamant on us celebrating our birthdays well and enjoying relaxing. She loved holidays and getting away from the stress of life and put herself in adverse positions to provide us the best times on our school holidays.

My mother was a woman who hated confrontation and avoided conflict from any body no matter how minor it was. She was an outstanding wife and served her husband in a traditional way and stayed happily married to him for 20 years.

My mother was very special to me and left me with many memories; at my youth when my interest in Nigerian music grew my mother was one of the only people who helped me translate the language after realizing how passionate I was, and forever I will remember and appreciate this every time I listen to these songs both old and new.

My mother was an angel who finished her mission and had to go back to her creator. God giveth and God taketh and we believe the good die young and God will preserve her soul in the heavens for ever. Her family will go from strength to strength and even though we’ve lost her we’ve gained an angel.

Bereaved Birthdays - Author Unknown

Birthdays are a time for celebration
Not a time for tears
But what happens when the birthdays
No longer mark the years.

A birthday marks the moment
A spirit enters earthly life
To share its special love and joy
And learn from earthly strife.

Before a spirit comes to us,
It knows when and how it must depart
It chose its path carefully,
We are honoured from the start.

The sadness we now feel
On such a joyous day
Is longing for our loved one's touch
It's natural to feel this way.

For even though the birthdays
No longer mark a spirit's stay
Love continues on forever
To touch us everyday.

I hug my precious memories
Close to my heart
And honour my beloved spirit child
Who chose me from the start

It's exactly two months you left us. My thought goes to your families especially your children and husband. May the Good Lord continue to uphold and strengthen them in Jesus Name. We miss you, may your gentle soul continue to rest in the bossom of God Almighty.

During the time that you spent here on earth, you brought joy , not only our lives, but those of many others. The memory of when we were first acquainted remains fresh in our minds. Oh what a delightful person you were.
We want you to know that though you may have physically left us all, your peaceful ways will always be remembered.
We never had the opportunity to tell you this, but you have always been someone very dear to us.
We are assured that you have gone to a better, more peaceful place to find rest; A place better suited for beings of your kind. While you rest, do so in great peace.
